• Operated orbiting Department of Defense satellites Launched military satellites and controlled them on-orbit, including satellites delivered aboard the Space Shuttle.

• Space Shuttle launches and orbit operations Three years at Lockheed elbow-to-elbow with NASA, Air Force, Boeing, TRW, Rockwell, Hughes, Martin Marietta, and other aerospace giants.

• Taught satellite engineering to Air Force officers Four years giving classroom lectures and directing satellite control room simulations.

• Tested IBM mainframe software developed for Department of Defense satellites Four years system testing and coordinating integrated testing.

• Implemented World Wide Web for defense satellite system Established and headed a Help Desk for about 1500 users located throughout the country, travelling frequently. In my free moments, I figured out how to write HTML code so I could make web pages for fun and amusement.

Some space vehicles I helped operate:

VELA The Watcher looked for nuclear detonations	Payload Assist Module (PAM) and SBS leaving space shuttle	Space Shuttle Columbia at Vandenberg AFB, with my engineering students	Inertial Upper Stage (IUS) leaving the space shuttle	Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS). This one's in the Smithsonian.
